How to help...
- We are always looking for volunteers to help with the workshops and local people who wish to be involved. We are located in Jackson County, NC and expect to serve all of western NC.
- We can use donations of office supplies and equipment, esp. right now a file cabinet. We also need equipment for presentation at the workshops.... laptop computer, projector and screen. Anyone wishing to borrow the powerpoint demonstration for a workshop in their community is welcome to contact us at seascat@gmail.com. It is primarily focused on educating the "helping professional". We only have the 1st workshop ready, but more are being developed and will be ready soon.
- We expect to present the workshops in various towns in western NC and can use help finding locations.
- As soon as we get the 501(C)3, I plan to solicit the donation of a vehicle. It can be used for errands related to SEASCAT business, workshops, and transportation to therapists. For now, we have purchased a car which is at the mechanic's. We hope it will serve until then. It will be used by 3+ survivors in western NC for transportation to essential services. It will also allow survivors to be more involved in the community in many ways. We will also be visible, as we are working on our logo which will be painted on the vehicle by our good friend Don Ware. Thank you, Don!
- I'd like to find the funds to get SEASCAT a cell phone which can be answered immediately and be used for long distance.
- I'd really love it if we could eventually locate funds to assist with the cost of therapists.
- We can use donations for things like gas for transportation, maybe some assistance for adult survivors who are struggling with housing/food/ etc., office equipment/supplies.
- The actual facility will take awhile longer, since we're talking about $ 1/4-1/2 million. $$$$
- Our board is small and we expect it to expand. Contact us if you have interest in becoming a board member. We are located in NC, if you can get to Jackson County (town of Sylva) for meetings, you are close enough.
- We're looking for a celebrity sponsor. I've tried, unsuccessfully, to contact Herschall Walker who recently came out as DID. If anyone has contact information for him or anyone else who can fill that role, please let us know.
